Hi everyone, We reviewed previous knowledge about pets and learned new content including the definition of radicals, how to use and find radicals, the differences between unaspirated and aspirated consonants, and how to use gesture to correctly pronounce the pinyin. Please remember to review these knowledge at home to prepare for a quiz at the beginning of the next class (9/7). Please remember that we do not have class next Saturday (8/31). Homework: Complete the exercise on workbook (page 85-88 except exercise 11) and bring your homework to class (9/7). In case some students do not have workbook, I attached the scan document via email.  This is the link of a YouTube video we watched in class (about different categories of radicals). Please watch it again and try to memorize these radicals as much as possible.  The new students need to do extra homework. Here are the YouTube videos.

Also, if some of you are interested in Chinese calligraphy or painting, we could talk more about these topics in class or after class. The syllabus for this semester has been posted by email. This is just th first draft of our syllabus because the specific contents would be adjusted according to your interests and learning progress. If yo
