Hello everyone!

Last Saturday we reviewed the chapter 14 My stationary and started to learn chapter 15 My house. Since you did not have homework for nearly three weeks, I want you to complete the homework for chapter 14 and 15 this time. Some of you were absent on October 5th, so I highly recommend you to utilize the following links to learn the vocabulary and text in chapter 14 independently. If you have some questions, do not hesitate to email me or bring your questions to the next class.

Next Saturday we will celebrate Halloween. Although we will not attend the trick or treat activity with other classes on the first floor (most of them are little babies), I still want to encourage you to bring some candies or dress up next week! Besides, last week most of you told me that you want to learn some words related to Halloween so that next class, we will not only focus on learning chapter 15 but also learning the new words, phrases or sentences about this festival. I also want to introduce a Chinese festival similar to Halloween to deepen your understanding of traditional Chinese culture. I will send you a link about this festival. Homework:
1. Use the following online tool to review chapter 14;
2. Complete the exercises on the workbook (page112, 114-115, and exercise 4 on page 117)
3. Each of you drew a picture of your house last class. I want you to label the rooms with pinyin and Chinese words.

Hello everyone, Greetings from Tianyi, a second-year graduate student from Vanderbilt Peabody college. Thank you for enrolling in Nashville Chinese School and coming to my class in the new semester. During this semester, I hope all of you will actively engage in my class. Although you are here for learning Mandarin Chinese, our target is not limited to the language itself. Hi everyone, Last Saturday we learned chapter 16 My Room, including the key words, the text, radicals, and prefix and suffix in Chinese. Please remember to review all of these before next Saturday. Next week, we will continue watching the YouTube video and discussing the differences between traditional Chinese and western furniture. Homework: Please finish the exercises on the workbook (Page 124-128) and don't forget to bring your homework next class! Hello everyone, How was your weekend? I hope that everything is going well. I just want to make sure that all of you are clear about the homework requirement. Last Saturday, we reviewed chapter one and two. All of you did a really good job! You were able to do a brief introduction about yourself and your family members. Many of you also added what we learned last semester such as favorite fruit or vegetables. I'm proud of you! Besides, because most of you showed a great interest in learning basic Chinese grammar, last week we discussed three tenses: past, present, and future tense, as well as two voices: active and passive voice. It is of great importance to know the Chinese grammar, especially when you want to discuss what happend, what's happening, and what will happen. Since all of you are in the group chat, I want you to use the pics to review three tenses and two voices.
